On being asked, “Ryan how much stock do you put into the potential landing spot impacting a decision that Williams is about to make?” Ryan Wilson disclosed that Caleb Williams needs to be “mature enough to handle” the pressure that is going to build up on him for “being the number one overall pick to be being QB1,” the responsibilities that come with being part of an organization that, “almost certainly will be struggling and need his help.” He additionally advised the young quarterback to avoid social media and other “storylines” that might criticize or create unnecessary pressure.

Caleb Williams did not have a very pleasant season, and there have been numerous “storylines that he wasn’t trying hard or that he gave up at times during the season” which according to Wilson, “are all bogus those are not true.” He blamed his team for not being able to protect him along the offensive line and advised Williams to not beat him up over not being able to “drag” his team to victory. He should always remember that he is a “special talent” and played as hard as anyone on the college football team.
