Colorado’s star athlete Travis Hunter is raking in accolades for his unique talent. The electrifying sophomore was named the 2023 Paul Hornung Award winner, recognizing him as college football’s most versatile player. This prestigious award honors players who excel on both sides of the ball, a tradition established by the legendary Paul Hornung himself.

However, the young athlete touched the hearts of fans once again, on the same night, with a sweet gesture. The moment was captured and shared on social media later, which received a lot of positive reactions from fans.

Colorado Buffs took to Instagram on March 8th to post a clip with the caption, “Travis loves the kids 😊”. The clip in reference is from The Hornung Award Ceremony on March 8th, where Travis Hunter was surrounded by little kids. He was signing cards and taking pictures with them.

Little fans present and other fans across the world appreciated his sweet gesture. The 14th edition of the event was organized by UofL Health at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville, in memory of Paul Hornung.

Hunter was invited to dinner for winning the prestigious Hornung award for being the most versatile player in college football. He excelled on both sides of the ball, shining as a cornerback with interceptions and tackles, and then switching to wide receiver to catch touchdowns. Hunter was the first ever five-star recruit to commit to an FCS program. When Sanders took the head coaching job at the University of Colorado in 2023, Hunter followed him.

Travis Hunter felt proud of receiving the award and he said, “I would like to thank the Louisville Sports Commission for this award,” He further added, “I’d like to thank all my teammates for their support and Coach Prime for the opportunity to play both ways and do whatever I can to help the Colorado Buffaloes.”

Other than his performance, the sweet gesture made by Hunter also moved fans. It was reflected in the comments section.
