A recent post by a sports news outlet showed Hunter standing alongside his new birthday car with the caption, “After Travis bought his fiancée a car, she returned the favor on his 21st birthday.” But the post didn’t sit well with some naysayers who went on to criticize Leanna for doing the “bare minimum” and that Travis Hunter “bought himself a car.” The two-way star seemed to have taken offense at the seemingly sexist remarks and came to Leanna’s defense and commented, “Y’all just love to hate lol if this came out my pocket I wouldn’t have posted it.”

Travis Hunter and Leanna’s relationship began way back when they were in Collins High School, specifically during Hunter’s senior year. The couple are each other’s biggest supporters and have even launched a successfully lucrative YouTube channel called Travis and Leanna, with 84.2K subscribers. Leanna’s birthday gift shouldn’t be seen as a restrictive favor that they had to repay. It’s just a pure form of love and appreciation for her fiance.

That being said, Hunter is someone who often splurges on his loved ones.

Travis Hunter is spending his NIL money on his closest ones. He gifted his mother a 5-bedroom house in Savannah, GA on her birthday in February. But we can’t blame him. After all, he’s one of the top earners in college football with an On3 NIL valuation of $2.3 million. 

For his fiancée Leanna, he broke all bounds when he surprised the 22-year-old beauty on her birthday with a new customized Tesla Model X which reportedly had a price tag of $68,590. Leanna, meanwhile, wastes no opportunity to showcase her love and affection to Hunter. She recently commented “I love you” to a post by her fiance in the Buffs uniform in the backdrop of Lil Wayne’s new single, “Bless.”
