There’s no doubt about it. Coach Prime and every Colorado Buffaloes staffer is satisfied with what they’ve recruited for the 2024 season. And who else but the director of player personnel, Corey Phillips, would beam with pride for his hard work? He said of the 2024 recruits and transfers, “It’s a different spirit and energy… They care about each other. That’s the first sign of winning.”

While Phillips’ recruiting skills shine on the football field, he has a gem in his life in the form of his son growing up to become as “handsome” and “smart” as his dad. His love and affection for his son are purely portrayed in his heartfelt message that he penned down on his birthday.

March 24 is a special day for the Phillips family as Deion Sanders’ director of player personnel celebrates his son’s birthday. Corey Phillips took to Instagram to upload pictures of his son growing up to a fine 14-year-old. He penned an emotional message with the caption, “3.24 is a REAL HOLIDAY!! This is the day I saw time stand still and my life change for the absolute better. Son you’re everything we have prayed for!

When Deion Sanders came to Boulder in December 2022, he brought his luggage. Among the valuable hauls that Coach Prime brought, former LSU associate director of personnel Corey Phillips was one staff member who helped the Buffs HC put together a strong player lineup. Besides his talent for recruiting in football, Corey Phillips’ son is undoubtedly the best person he has “recruited” in his life. His message read, “I’m thankful that I’m your dad and I get to witness your greatness.” But looking ahead at the 2024 season, Phillips has already rounded up a promising lineup for the Buffs.
