“Coach Means a Lot to Us”: Jalen Milroe Offers Support to Nick Saban Despite Alabama’s Unfortunate Defeat to Michigan

The Alabama Crimson Tide lost to the Michigan Wolverines in the Rose Bowl and their season has come to an untimely end. Coach Saban had one of the best seasons of his career but even that wasn’t enough against the mighty Wolverines last night.

Coach Saban’s team had an impressive season with a 12-2 overall record. They were able to make it to the college football playoffs on the number 4 position but won’t be making it into the national championship now. And now while the men in Maroon shed their tears, this is what Milroe had to say about Nick Saban and his passion for the team as the head coach.

During the post-match interview, both coach Saban and Jalen Milroe took on a storm of questions after their unfortunate defeat at the hands of the Michigan Wolverines. One of the reporters asked Milroe what Saban meant to him and the team and Milroe had an honest answer to give.

Milroe said, “Coach means a lot to us, we play even harder knowing that the coach has the belief system in us. Just listening to him talk when he talks about you know how proud he is of this team. We have a lot of things we can be proud of from this season you know. There’s a lot of things to be proud of but one thing I am proud of is how much coach Saban harped on his belief system among us.” Consequently, while the season comes to an end for Alabama, Nick Saban will go down as one of the best coaches for Alabama as the fans pay their respects to his Rose Bowl performance. With all that said, here’s a look at Jalen Milroe and his outstanding performance against Michigan last night.

Milroe’s last desperate attempt to win it for Alabama was foiled

During the end of the match, the Crimson team needed a touchdown and were facing fourth- and goal from the Michigan 3-yard like in overtime. Josiah Stewart stopped Milroe as he tried to pass through the defense and eventually handed Michigan the win.

In response to the valiant effort, this is what Milroe said, “At the end of the day I just trusted the guys up front for believing in me on the last play to have the ball, and unfortunately we just missed and we just didn’t get in the end zone.” Thus, Milroe’s performance will be remembered by Alabama fans for a long time as he gave it his all to try and bring the Rose Bowl home.
