11-Year NFL Veteran Reacts To Will Smith’s Apology To Chris Rock For Oscar Slapgate

The debacle at Oscars 2022 overshadowed numerous wins on that night. The cause of this was the infamous incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock. ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ landed a ruthless slap on the stand-up comedian’s face, which left several attendees shocked to their cores. Everybody on the internet discussed and let out their opinions. The internet demanded an apology from Smith.

Nearly five months after the incident, Will Smith uploaded a YouTube video where he publically apologized to Chris Rock for the second time. Many reacted to the video.

Will Smith posts an apology video; Chris Long reacts

The apology stirred the internet as nobody expected it. Amongst various reactionists were the former defensive-end veteran and Super Bowl champion, Chris Long. He let out his support and seemed to have forgiven the actor. As in the video, Will Smith realizes and says, “I know “I’m sorry” isn’t sufficient.” He also apologized to Rock’s mother.

In the tweet, Chris Long points out that people forgive other public figures who are worse. Ultimately, the star broke his silence over his actions and gave an explanation to the world. He explained in the video how he worked out the complexity of the situation. The comedian cracked a joke about a sensitive topic about Jada Pinkett, Smith’s spouse. Noting her disapproval, Will Smith took action into his own hands and solved it by getting violent.

“I apologise to you. My behaviour was unacceptable. I am here whenever you are ready to talk.” He said in the video. The 53-year-old actor cleared out that his wife did not instigate the occurrence. Since the altercation, the Academy banned Smith from attending future Oscar events and other Academy award events for ten years.

The events on the night of the award ceremony played out quickly and in a confounding manner. It left the entire world with several questions in their minds. However, many personalities like Long reacted to the Oscar award-winning actor’s apology video.
