We are all set for the 2021 NFL Draft. Teams across the league are looking to draft the ‘perfect’ youngster in order to help them achieve their long-term goals in the coming years. All eyes are on Clemson Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence this weekend.

The swashbuckling quarterback has been one of the most consistent performers in college football over the last 3 years. As a true freshman, he led Clemson to the CFP National Championship in 2018. From that point on, it was nowhere but up for Lawrence and the Tigers.

The silk-haired youngster concluded his 3-year college football career with 10,000+ passing yards and 90 passing TDs against 17 interceptions. He is a top-3 quarterback in the Class of 2021 alongside Justin Fields (Ohio State) and Zach Wilson (BYU Cougars).

He specifically went on to talk about Knoxville-born Trevor Lawrence, who is widely expected to sign with Jacksonville Jaguars in the coming days.

“I think it’s an extremely talented group. Yeah. I think it’s, you know, pretty similar to my class that was coming out. I think there are some really good guys, I think there’s a lot of raw talent. Obviously, Trevor is very unique and very special”

“And I think that’s, that’s one thing that he’s known, he’s been going number one overall for a long time now. And that’s, that’s a unique thing in itself. So I just think it’s fun to kind of see how you know, the rest of it’s gonna play out, I think there’s gonna be some, some trade-ups and some hecticness, craziness, that’s going to go on. But that’s what makes it fun,” Mayfield said on the podcast.

While Lawrence is hogging all the limelight, it is important to point out that his fellow batchmates are not far behind. Zach Wilson, a potential option for New York Jets at #2, is also entering the NFL on the back of a sensational year with the BYU Cougars.

OSU’s Justin Fields and Alabama’s Mac Jones both made the CFP National Championship final earlier this year. NDSU’s Trey Lance, who skipped the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is still expected to be a Top-10 pick.
