NFL insider Adam Schefter featured on the latest segment of ESPN’s Get Up. The highly-revered journalist claimed that Alabama prospect Jones will definitely be part of draft discussions between Kyle Shanahan and GM John Lynch.

He said, “The San Francisco 49ers already have moved up to number three in the draft and Mac Jones, the Alabama quarterback is absolutely square in the conversation to become the number three overall pick.”

“We’ll see whether they ultimately come to that decision in the next three-plus weeks, Greenie. There are other quarterbacks out there that will merit consideration, Trey Lance, Justin fields, but Mac Jones clearly is in the conversation to become the third player picked in this upcoming NFL Draft,” Schefter said on the show.

As mentioned above, Justin Fields (Ohio State) and Trey Lance (NDSU) are definitely potential options at number three overall. But another player who can be part of that conversation is BYU star, Zach Wilson.

As per reports, the New York Jets are keen to draft Wilson at number 2 overall. However, as we’ve seen before, one must expect the unexpected on NFL Draft Day.
