The New England Patriots endured a tough outing in the 2020 NFL season. They finished the season third in their division with a 7-9 record behind the Miami Dolphins. They struggled in the absence of the legendary Tom Brady. But all that is about to change as New England snap up CFP National Champion Mac Jones in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

It’s no secret that New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Alabama’s Nick Saban share a close professional relationship. In fact, after the selection of Mac Jones, Belichick has now drafted 11 players who have previously played under the guidance of coach Saban.
Jones was previously being tipped for a potential move to San Francisco 49ers at #3 in the draft. But coach Shanahan and GM John Lynch opted to go with NDSU’s Trey Lance instead.
