Former Victoria’s Secret model Gisele Bündchen is no newcomer to hard work and perseverance. The world of modeling looks very glamorous from the outside. But, from the experience of someone who worked in the industry for a long time, not everything appears as it seems.

Gisele Bündchen is perhaps one of the most recognizable names in the modeling world. At one time, she was the highest-paid model in the world. But all good things come at a steep price. In her memoir, ‘Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life,’ the model opens up about the early years of her career. During this time, she faced many challenges.

Gisele Bündchen worked round the clock

Before slowing her pace and raising her two children with ex-husband Tom Brady, Bündchen was cooking up a storm in the fashion industry. But her success did not happen overnight. The model revealed that after signing her contract, she was working non-stop. An excerpt from her memoir reads, “By 1999, after I signed a contract with Victoria’s Secret, I was working 350 days a year.

Bündchen revealed that during a typical season, modeling was a one-day job. Most of the other days were occupied by fittings for shows. The model also elaborated on the odd hours she’d be called in for hair and makeup. She said, “Hair and makeup could start at six a.m. and the fittings at times lasted until dawn. It didn’t matter if I got to bed at two a.m. the night before- I needed to do fittings.” In other parts of her memoir, Bündchen revealed that discipline was a key part of her success.

Bündchen has a positive outlook on life

While recounting the tough scheduling she endured, the model said that she showed up every morning on time. Bündchen also spoke about the uglier sides of modeling that included enduring criticism. She mentions the lack of kindness within the industry. But, the model stated that she worked hard and tried to be the best version of herself even when times were tough.

Bündchen’s discipline and perseverance have also translated to her personal life as a mother. The model was married to legendary quarterback Tom Brady for 13 years. The former couple is now co-parenting their two children. Gisele Bündchen’s career is a testament to her success. With her optimistic outlook on life, there is no doubt that she will inculcate her children to follow in her footsteps.
