The 44-year-old received mixed reactions to securing a multi-million dollar deal with FOX Sports as an analyst. However, it is not a deterrent for the 7x Super Bowl-winning champion to retire early. Well, early, at least for him.

In March 2022, just six weeks after announcing his retirement, he told an unpredicted comeback. Entering his 23rd season, he expects to secure another Lombardi trophy and increase his Super Bowl count to eight. Reflecting on whether Brady would change his mind about retiring, he has an interesting response.
Tom Brady realizes that he is not as athletic as he used to be, considering his age. Therefore, he feels he doesn’t have five years left and can change his mind about playing another season or retiring at any point.

Nonetheless, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hoping that Brady probably plays more than one season with them. Recently, Brady’s best offensive WR, Rob Gronkowski, retired, leaving the QB with other options.
What did Tom Brady say about his retirement plans?
In an interview with Variety, Brady reflected on his career, production business, and much more. But shedding light on his retirement plans, he said, “I really don’t know when I’ll be done playing. I would say it’s year to year: Could this be my last year? Absolutely. Could I change my mind? Absolutely.”

He said, “I’ve realized I don’t have five years left. I want to do it my way. I want to give it everything I got and see where I’m at. My body feels really good. I’ve had a lot of traumatic injuries over the years, but if things go really smoothly and we win, that’d be great.”
