The NFL Draft for 2022 would begin the week after next. Various organizations throughout the league prepare to add young talent to their rosters. Although, a number of noteworthy veterans are still accessible in free agency. While numerous sportsperson continues to pitch their services to multiple teams, a new prominent athlete is eyeing a homecoming to the NFL.

When Earl Thomas left the NFL, he didn’t rule it as retirement and stayed as a free agent. After being out of the league for two seasons, the former Pro Bowler free safety is reportedly ready to resume his NFL career. For someone who has been extremely effective in his tenure, many teams might look for Thomas this year.

Earl Thomas is ready to play in the NFL

The former Seahawks and Ravens safety, who has long been considered one of the best at his profession, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Friday that he wants to get back to the NFL after laying out the last two years.

Schefter mentions, “Former seven-time Pro-Bowl safety Earl Thomas, who last played for Baltimore in 2019 and who turns 33 in May, said today that he wants to resume his NFL career this season…”

The 5-foot-10 safety has had a tumultuous journey thus far. Being the 14th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by the  Seattle Seahawks; Earl Thomas was a part of the ‘Legion of Boom.’ He is a 3-time All-Pro and 7-time Pro Bowler whose tenure in Seattle was cut short due to leg injuries.

After his tenure in Seattle ended, Thomas moved on to compete for the Baltimore Ravens for one campaign. During his time with the Ravens in 2019, he had 49 tackles and two interceptions before being cut from the team.

Thomas, who will be 33 years old in May, is looking for his third club in the league. The Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Los Angeles Rams could all be looking for safety. Earl Thomas has yet to decide where he will go next as the draft approaches.
