How many times has Tom Brady answered questions about his future in the NFL? He gets asked about it at the end of every regular season now. And that is understandable as the NFL legend is 45 years old. So will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB return for his 24th season in the NFL?

Tom Brady opens up about his NFL future

Tampa Tom revealed his plans for his future in the league. However, he did so in a vague manner. In the most recent episode of his ‘Let’s Go’ podcast, Brady used the Damar Hamlin incident to drive a point about his thoughts on his future home.

“I wanted to say one thing. What did this last week teach us with what the brave and courageous Damar Hamlin went through? That we aren’t promised anything, none of us are,” Brady said.

The legendary QB then revealed that he is not thinking about anything beyond taking life day by day. “So just take it for what it is. And I am not thinking about this and next and that and this, no,” Brady added.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion has playoffs to worry about before the offseason. And that right now is more pressing of an issue than if he is coming back to play next season. Maybe the picture will be clearer after the Buccaneers campaign ends this time. And if Brady wants to retire, he might prefer to do it with a Super Bowl ring on his finger. Therefore, winning the ultimate prize after such a topsy-turvy season would be the pinnacle of his already illustrious career.

The icing on the cake

The Buccaneers have had a frustrating season this time around. They have struggled with injuries throughout the season. And that has translated into struggles on the field. The team has somehow sneaked into the playoffs, but can they go all the way and win the Lombardi Trophy? It would be like icing on the cake for the franchise. However, the first hurdle in their way is the Dallas Cowboys.

The 2022 season is also the first time that Tom Brady has finished the regular season with a losing record. Fans need to go back a full two decades to find a season for Brady that even remotely looks close to this one. Then he finished 9-7 in 2002. But now he is 8-9. To end such a season with a Super Bowl title will be the greatest sendoff a player can receive. And Tom Brady deserves nothing less.
