Losing the NFC Championship to the LA Rams was disappointing for the San Francisco 49ers. As a result, they will be at home watching the Super Bowl LVI title game between the Rams and Bengals. Thus, Trey Lance will also be at home. However, he won’t be hosting a party this year since his team didn’t make it to the Super Bowl.

Henceforth, it is evident that Lance and the entire 49ers organization still haven’t recovered from the heartbreaking loss in the NFC Championship game.

Trey Lance, from a backup to a starter

There is speculation that the San Francisco 49ers will trade their starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo. As a result, the rookie will be expected to take charge on the field. In addition, the Niners paid a high price to acquire Lance during the 1st round of the 2021 NFL Draft. However, Lance was just reduced to a second-string quarterback this season.

He played as a backup for Garoppolo. Nevertheless, Lance did manage to get some playing time when Garoppolo was injured. Furthermore, his performance in those few minutes was quite impressive. As a result of Garoppolo’s trade, Lance is supposed to take over the starting quarterback role next season.

The comment he made, only shows how much he values playing in the Super Bowl. A rookie with his level of determination could lead the squad to a championship title. Therefore, if Lance and the Niners do well, we might see the Niners compete for the Super Bowl in Arizona. Does the rookie have what it takes to lead his team to the Super Bowl?
