Age is just a number for the ‘Queen of Hip Hop Soul’ Mary J Blige, as she is still one of the best performers in the world, even at the age of 51. Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that she has been dating a 29-year-old NFL player, who is currently playing for the New York Giants.

Notably, Blige has been pretty private about her personal life. So far, she has kept private all the men she dated; now it seems like she could not keep her relationship with the NFL star private anymore.

Mary J Blige is reportedly dating Sterling Shepard of the Giants

As per various reports, the famous singer and songwriter, Mary J Blige, is dating the 29-year-old Giants wide receiver, Sterling Shepard. According to Page Six, he has been partying with the singer at the Harbor NYC, celebrating the birthday of a renowned stylist, Misa Hylton. As per many witnesses, they were getting quite cozy with one another.

Previously, Shepard married model Chanel Iman, which lasted around 4 years. In June 2021, he decided to file a divorce, and the reason for their divorce is still unknown. After their divorce, the Giant star started dating Blige.

As for the singer and her dating history, she once reportedly dated the late rapper Tupac Shakur. Also, Blige divorced her husband Kendu Isaacs in 2018 after almost 13 years of marriage.

The connection between Blige and the NFL is not new, as she already performed at the halftime show during Super Bowl 56. Notably, she was the only female performer during that Super Bowl, alongside Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and others.

She started her performance by singing her famous single from 2001 ‘Family Affair’. Then, she sang her arguably most famous song ‘No More Drama’, and the crowd absolutely loved her performance. At one point, she pretended to fall on the stage for a more dramatic effect. Many fans took to social media to praise the Super Bowl performances; particularly Blige’s performance.

On the other hand, the Super Bowl was also a fun affair for the fans, as the Bengals and the Rams had a great match-up. In the end, the Rams won the Super Bowl in a close contest (23-20). Rams receiver Cooper Kupp received the Super Bowl MVP award.
