Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has all but closed the door on returning to Tampa Bay. The veteran defensive juggernaut has now his NFL future up in the air as he looks to prepare himself for any scenario next season. After 3 dominant and wonderful seasons in Tampa Bay, Suh is determined to continue playing and he will be a valuable addition to any NFL roster.

On Monday, during his guest analyst appearance on ESPN 2’s NFL Live, Suh was looking forward to playing in his 13th season. He states, “(I’m) excited to really just understand where I can potentially be. It looks like the Bucs are out of the picture, but excited to look at the other options.

Despite winning his 1st Super Bowl ring in 2020 with the team, the acquisition of veteran DT Akiem Hicks and drafting of young DT Logan Hall was a clear indication.

Despite entering his mid-30s, Suh is a reliable player for any major NFL contender after coming off an impressive season in 2021. Apart from being a starter, he was producing 27 tackles, 6.0 sacks, and seven tackles for loss. While the self-belief has never been higher in Suh about playing for a contender, the Buccaneers have their plans in the works.

Are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady ready for the 2022 NFL campaign?

While the franchise has lost some key players, the replacements are filling the void well. The veteran DT Hicks will be joining the team on a 1-year, $10 million deal next season. Despite a lower production than the departing 5-time Pro Bowler in recent seasons, Brady and the franchise hope he will step up in 2022.

The Buccaneers also have a young, exciting prospect in rookie Logan Hall who has been impressive in the offseason training. Being the 33rd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft will bring more pressure for Hall to prove himself quickly.

The mobility, agility, athleticism, and willingness to learn makes Hall a scary prospect in the coming seasons.

As the new season edges ever closer, the outgoing Suh has started a race for his former teammates to accept the challenge with both hands. Even the former Buccaneers DT will look to prove his former employers wrong at the first possible opportunity in 2022. It is again Super Bowl or bust for the franchise as they look to capitalize on potentially Brady‘s final NFL campaign.
