Despite the evolution, the Las Vegas Raiders crashed this season. The franchise had one of the most underwhelming seasons. The new coaching staff, which included names like Davante Adams, did not pan out well either. However, the blame has landed on Derek Carr, who faced a surprising benching in the final regular-season games. But the latest development may show that the Carr era is over.

Derek Carr became the center of criticism in the Raiders’ 2022 campaign. The team went 5-9 and could not put together a strong showing. While there are many reasons for their fallout, Carr appears to be the prime cause. It led to the franchise benching out the QB1 for the final games, and he has made such a move that many would deem immature: the social media scrub.

According to Raiders Report host Mitchell Renz, Derek Carr has unfollowed the Las Vegas Raiders on Instagram and Twitter. The QB1’s feelings toward the franchise may have been influenced by the fallout of the regular season.

After the Raiders sidelined Derek Carr, he answered back by asking the team whether he could be unavailable for the rest of the season. The quarterback stated he did not want to be a problem. Carr no longer appears to be burdened by Raiders concerns.

Apart from Derek Carr’s retreat, another interesting aspect was when the franchise owner had some sourness with the QB1. As per The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, Mark Davis has been tepid on Carr for some time. The owner thought he should have transcended all the catastrophic roster and coaching moves and cuts since 2014.

While Derek Carr indirectly highlighted his discontent, Davante Adams came forward to support his teammate.

The Derek Carr benching news was indeed a shocker. But many have criticized him for being the reason for the Raiders’ fall. However, Davante Adams appears to believe the opposite and supports the franchise quarterback. Adams shared his support for his close friend via Instagram.
