A Frustrated Carson Wentz Almost Got Knocked Out By a Teammate After Philadelphia Eagles Won The Super Bowl in 2017 Without His Help

Carson Wentz the champion quarterback was the frontrunner in leading the Philadelphia Eagles to their maiden Superbowl victory in 2017. The star was however benched due to a severe ligament injury. And as a result, he could not feature in the championship match, making Nick Foles the MVP of the Super Bowl.

A sad yet shocking incident happened after the match celebrations. Wentz was alleged to have expressed his displeasure at the team’s victory. That too in front of other injured players. Things got so bad that his teammates engaged in a hand-to-hand brawl against him. It is still unclear as to who got engaged with him for a fight. However, Wentz’s behavior was deeply regretted by his teammates and experts.

Was Carson Wentz unhappy with the team’s victory?

The 2017 season was a pretty hard season for Wentz as he underwent several injuries in a very short span. The QB tore his ACL in the Week 14 match-up against the Rams and since then he was unable to start the game.

Owing to all these reasons, Nick Foles, the backup quarterback went on to lead the team towards the championship title. However, it seemed like Wentz was not happy with what had happened.

Having started the season as the front runner for the NFL MVP award and ending it with an injury might have irked him. It must have been frustrating to watch himself outside the team. To add insult to injury,  somebody else was taking the team towards the victory.

With major players outside the park, it was the grit and determination that helped the Eagles to make their way through. The Eagles defeated the mighty New England Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl LII and were crowned as the new champions of the league.

Carson Wentz carried a broad smile in front of the media. Although, the QB was visibly upset and helpless, unable to contribute to the side. It was the self-guilt that had provoked him to act selfishly and openly exhibit his displeasure, as alleged by his teammates.

Well, those days are presumably far behind Wentz. He had a disappointing layover in Indy but now things are fresh again. A new chapter and a new season are about to begin. Fans wait to watch Wentz come out of the tunnel in the colors of the Washington Commanders.
