The Saints legend Drew Brees is back in the arena, but this time not as a quarterback, instead wearing the hat of an assistant coach for Purdue Boilermakers. Although the position is reserved as an interim agreement, the veteran will train the young athletes for the upcoming Citrus Bowl.
The happiness for the Purdue fans saw no bounds as the unexpected move shook the pro football world. After successfully wrapping up an illustrious career of 20 NFL seasons, Drew Brees, making a comeback as a coach, will help the upcoming athletes at Purdue receive great insights from the legend himself. Fans referred to his new gig as “A signing of All time”.

Interestingly, Brees takes up this new job at his alma mater, where he played quarterback from 1997 to 2000. He won the Maxwell award for leading a formidable Bilmakers to the Rose Bowl 2000. To date, Brees holds the university records for passing yards, rushing, completions, and total touchdowns.

“I am extremely excited to work with our team over the next few weeks as we prepare for the Citrus Bowl,” Brees said in a statement. “I see it not only as an opportunity to coach and mentor this group of young men, but represent all the former Purdue players that care so much about our program,” he added.

As a quarterback, Brees happened to be an exceptional talent. He still ranks second in NFL history with 80,358 career passing yards and 571 touchdown passes. It is yet to be seen how much he flourishes in his coaching career.
