Back when Russell was playing for the Seahawks, he announced with his singer wife, Ciara, that they were launching “Why not you academy” in the state of Washington to approach education with an adaptive approach. They made it very clear that they weren’t doing this for political stunts, and they insisted that this approach will inspire the new generation with a leadership approach. And, after almost two years, this initiative has actually become very successful.

This academy is situated in Washington with students from 45 different middle schools around the area. The student body consists of students ranging from 9th to 12th grade. It offers a unique way of teaching that focuses on diversity, real-life experiences, and building relationships to prepare students for any stage of their lives.

Why Not You Academy recruits teachers from all over the world to enhance the worldwide diversity of students. This program is intended to help students get out of their shells and learn skills that will land them jobs and opportunities after graduation.
