DeAndre Hopkins is in the free market and everybody has an eye on him! Ever since Arizona Cardinals failed to find a trade destination for 5x Pro Bowler Deandre Hopkins, and ended up releasing the superstar, the NFL landscape has boiled down to an arms race to acquire Hopkins. With Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs set to be amongst the top suitors for Hopkins to sign with, a new competitor seems to have entered the fray. 

Hopkins would certainly be a welcome addition to the Chiefs roster which just won the Super Bowl last season. Hopkin has expressed his desire to play for a winning team in the past, and a move to the Chiefs would all but solidify his shot at the Super Bowl. But it seems like the WR has other destinations in mind as well. Most noticeably, all the way up in the Big Apple, Aaron Rodgers, and the New York Jets. 

Deandre Hopkins teases possible update on free agent destination

While the Chiefs and their AFC counterparts, Buffalo Bills, have been the biggest suitors in the ongoing arms race for Deandre Hopkins, the WR seems to have different options in mind. New York Jets have quietly emerged as a potential destination for DeAndre Hopkins. In a recent Instagram story, Hopkins shared a photo of a television screen in his gym, with the Jets logo displayed in the bottom left corner. 

Is Hopkins trying to hint towards a possible move to the bright lights of New York City? While that is still up for speculation, this subtle hint has fueled rumors of a potential move to the Big Apple.

With the Jets’ blockbuster acquisition of Aaron Rodgers in the offseason, the team is among the leaders in possible title contenders entering the 2023 NFL Season. Adding a player of Hopkins’ caliber would undoubtedly elevate their offense and provide Rodgers with a reliable target to work with. 

Who are the possible suitors for Deandre Hopkin? 

Hopkins has been one of the star receivers over the last half a decade across the NFL landscape. This is why, it is understandable that nearly every team that is looking to contend for a Super Bowl is bursting to get their hands on the WR. With Hopkins winning aspirations, the best suitors for him remain Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

But amongst these rumors, the Bills have also been in heavy contention to land Hopkins. The Bills, led by the talented Josh Allen, are eager to secure their first-ever Super Bowl victory and establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the league. The only question left is whether an aging yet rejuvenated Aaron Rodgers is enough to tie the knot for Hopkins, or does the stability of the Chiefs or the Bills entice the 3x All-Pro team member?
