Aaron Rodgers’ Ex-Girlfriend Battles for Justice as 35-Year-Old Faces Brutal Tragedy

Aaron Rodgers’ ex-girlfriend has come out in support of a family that has gone through a terrible loss. The ex-girlfriend of the NFL star has lent her voice to the alleged case of neglect in an Atlanta prison that relates to the death of a 35-year-old prisoner from last year. The family had accused the jail authorities of neglect of a prisoner’s health and cell conditions and said that that was the cause of the death of their loved one. Woodley is now using her platform to help amplify their message to the world.

Woodley is an avid environmental activist and was once arrested during a protest against the Dakota Pipeline. A court sentenced her to one year in probation. But the activist in her remains alive to this day, as she continues to use her celebrity to speak up for the cause she believes in.

Actress Shailene Woodley took to Instagram to raise her voice on the alleged neglect of a 35-year-old prisoner, leading to his death. She shared a story with some brutal details about the case.

“His family were never notified of his whereabouts. His dead body was discovered inside his cell on September 13, covered in insect bites after months of neglect,” a part of the post she shared on her story read.

Lashawn Thomson was a 35-year-old inmate in an Atlanta prison whose family has alleged that he was ‘eaten alive by insects’ inside his cell. He was arrested on June 12, 2022, on misdemeanor simple battery charges and sent to the Fulton County jail. He faced some mental health issues, so the authorities shifted him to the psychiatric wing of the prison. According to reports, detention officers noticed his deteriorating health due to bed bugs and insects in his cell but didn’t help him.

He died in September last year and the story has garnered international attention. Woodley, through a simple Instagram story, has demanded justice for the family. But this is not the first time a celebrity has thrown light on inmate rights.

When Ciara went inside a prison 

Ciara went inside a prison facility in Miami Florida to meet the inmates recently. While there, she read a Bible sermon to the inmates along with her husband and the Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson. She then took the mic to lead the congregation with a song.

More than 300 inmates attended the event organized by the ‘God Behind Bars’ organization. Ciara said that she loves the fact that there is no condemnation in Jesus Christ. She also stated that God’s love is relentless, no matter what. That would have surely resonated with the inmates. So, everyone has their own way of giving back to society. While Shailene Woodley did her bit through social media, Ciara and Wilson went about it in their own way.
