The NFC North face-offs between the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings was a thrilling game where Aaron Rodgers had to taste defeat. It is the second time in a row that the Packers had a frustrating loss in week 1. However, Rodgers has an unbelievably confident justification to make up for their mistakes.

The 2022 season is a campaign full of challenges for the Green Bay Packers. Especially the loss of prominent wide receivers like Davante Adams has affected the offensive unit in a surreal manner. No doubt, Rodgers is experiencing the heat of the moment. The Vikings thrashed the Packers 23-7 without allowing the Green jerseys to connect for a single touchdown.

A 75-yard bomb launched by Rodgers to the rookie wideout, Christian Watson, was an utter failure. Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson was smart enough to foil their plans, and the Packers QB admitted in the press conference that it would have been a great start if that touchdown was a success.

Last season, it was the New Orleans Saints, posting 38-3 against the Packers in the season opener. Instead of being worried about the current situation of the team, Rodgers remained optimistic, saying the team has scored four more points compared to the previous season.

“We scored four more points than we did that day,” Rodgers said with a smile. “There’s a lot to build on when you compare the two. Look, it’s tough to win in this league, and it’s definitely tough when you get in your own way too many times.”

“So, I felt like we did some good things. Maybe we’ve got to get some more touches for Jonesy [Aaron Jones] and [AJ] Dillon. Made a lot of mistakes in the perimeter, missed some throws, so there’s a lot to clean up all the way around.” The QB added to his explanation.

Aaron Rodgers wants to give more time to the youngsters

Even though A-Rod happens to carry a trend of losses in the beginning, his records in the later stages of the season are impressive. Despite last year’s opening defeat, the Packers finished 13-4. Moreover, taking a young squad to the field has its risks.

While speaking to the reporters, Rodgers said that he needs to remain patient with the newcomers. To get the results, constant backing is required. “They’re young. They haven’t been in the fire. The patience will be thinner as the season goes on, but the expectation will be high.” He said.

One of the main reasons the offensive unit is fragile is because players like Lazard, starting tackles David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins are absent for knee surgeries. They haven’t been cleared yet.
