Aaron Rodgers Reveals How Desperate Jets Played Mind Games to Lure Him to New York

After coming out of his darkness retreat, Aaron Rodgers appeared for the first time on the ‘Pat McAfee Show’. So, the whole world was paying plenty of attention, as Rodgers revealed some big things in the show. McAfee talked about the speculations about how the Jets hired former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett just to lure Rodgers to the Jets. In reply to that, Rodgers made some interesting comments.
Notably, in an earlier episode of the ‘Pat McAfee Show’, Rodgers showered lots of praise for his former OC. That was before the Jets hired Hackett as their new OC. Hence, there was a lot of speculation about the Jets potentially trying to lure Rodgers to New York.

Aaron Rodgers opens up about the Jets hiring Nathaniel Hackett
In the McAfee show, Rodgers made it clear that he did not give too much attention to all those speculations. Instead, he talked highly of Hackett by saying, “That actually diminishes the ability that he has as coach of football and connect to people. And that is to me f**king objective reality. That anybody who’s been with Hackett knows that he brings a lot of energy, a lot of fun. He’s an incredible teacher of the game, especially at the quarterback position.“

Speaking about all the speculation, Rodgers further said, “For people to say that was done just in an attempt to lure me is a total disservice to Nathaniel Hackett and what he has accomplished in his career and the kind of person he is… He’s not just a great fu**ing human but he is a great football coach.“

Earlier, Rodgers praised the OC massively and talked about their bond when he was in Green Bay. Moreover, he had fun on and off the field when Hackett was there. Notably, Rodgers won the MVP award in 2020 and 2021 and Hackett was the OC of the Packers at that time.

In the show, Rodgers also confirmed to the world that he is most likely moving to the Jets. However, he felt bittersweet about how things ended with the Packers after playing for that franchise for so long. He felt the Packers wanted to move on and so did he.

But Rodgers had nothing but respect for the Packers fans and people involved in that organization. He also showed love for Jordan Love, who will take the mantle from Rodgers in the next season. As for Rodgers, it’s just a matter of time before a deal is finalized with the Jets, as he will be donning a different green jersey pretty soon.
