Quarterback Wilson is no longer in the NFC after the Broncos trade. However, Rodgers taking a cheap shot on his faith remains a notorious moment in the NFL.

The moment dates back into the memory lane of 2015. The Green Bay Packers defeated the Seattle Seahawks, 27-17, on Lambeau Field on Week 2 Sunday night’s match-up. After the game, Aaron Rodgers hits a sly dig on Russell Wilson. What highlights the matter is that A-Rod invokes DangeRuss’ Christian faith. Furthermore, it looked from his remark that he was thinking about the Packers’ past rivalry with the Seahawks.

After Green Bay defeated the Seahawks 27-17, Rodgers remarks via Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. “I just think it’s a top-down mentality. It’s being very confident in the preparation and then getting it all from God. I think God was a Packer fan tonight, so He was taking care of us,” Rodgers mentions.

The remarks made by Aaron Rodgers seem to be a not-so-subtle dig at Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson. The NFL universe recognizes him for citing his religious beliefs when the Seahawks and Packers faced off in the 2014-2015 NFC Championship Game.

The Seahawks fell 16-0 at the half before coming back to win 28-22 in overtime. As per The Guardian, Wilson attributed the victory to God, exclaiming that God is good and said he thought God made it happen and for making the occasion so gratifying and significant.

Russell Wilson is open regarding his faith in Christianity. The current Denver Broncos QB avoids any contentious remarks. Wilson opted not to confront his rival when questioned about Rodgers’ assertions. Russell believes everyone has the right to their viewpoint regarding such a statement. Wilson simply thanks God for giving him the chance to play the game of football.

Wilson further said via CBS Sports, “I know one of the things my parents always taught me was just to continue to remain humble in your victories and your losses. I think that’s just the thing that I’m grateful for, just to be able to play the game of football. I love it. Like I said, everybody is entitled to their own opinion.”
