According to the Washington Post, the investigators will scrutinize the NFL for potential breaches of federal and state pay equity laws and anti-discrimination laws. The NFL has responded by affirming its commitment to the issue and promising to cooperate with the investigation.
The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, led by Democrats, conducted an investigation into Daniel Snyder, the owner of the Washington Commanders, the team’s workplace, and the NFL’s handling of these issues.

The committee released a 79-page report in December last year, titled “Conduct Detrimental: How the NFL and the Washington Commanders Covered Up Decades of Sexual Misconduct.”

Former NFL employees submit lawsuits
The New York Times report from February 2022, in which over 30 women working for the NFL described a demoralizing corporate culture, was cited by the attorneys general, “described a stifling, deeply ingrained corporate culture that demoralized some female employees.”
