The journey of Colin Kaepernick to becoming an NFL player wasn’t very straightforward. He had to endure many challenges and sacrifice a lot in order to become a quarterback for the 49ers. Last year a Netflix series named ‘Colin in Black and White’ was released. It showed the journey of Kap into becoming the sporting icon he is.

Jaden Michael, a young actor, portrayed the role of Kap in that Netflix series. Last year, Michael talked about the challenges he had faced while getting ready to enact Kaepernick. He explained the physical test that he had to go through in order to get selected for the role.

He said, “I had a physicality test. So they wanted to see like if I can actually throw a ball properly, ’cause I’d never played team sports before. So I had to call up my uncles during the middle of a major pandemic or global pandemic, and I was like, ‘Hey guys, you remember when you guys wanted to teach me how to throw a baseball, right? I need you guys to come through for that quick.'”

It wasn’t an easy task for Michael to slot in the role of Kap as he wasn’t really a ‘sports’ guy before. He trained hard in order to get the part for the Netflix series.

He added, “We were talking about, you know, what it means to be black in America, but also like lighter subjects, pop culture. Jaden Michael really did well in portraying the role of Kap. The series was loved immensely by many people worldwide. The Netflix series finally described Kap’s uphill journey, and it brought more respect to Kap from his fans.
Colin Kaepernick is edging closer to a return to the NFL. He last played in 2017, but his chance to show his talent in the league might be very close. Kap recently worked out with the LV Raiders. Many were left impressed by him. As a result, there is a strong possibility that he’ll end up on some team’s roster before the season starts.
