Clearly, Broncos have a weakness at the running back position. In the 2023 NFL draft, they did not select a running back. However, they may still address this need during the off-season due to uncertainty surrounding Javonte Williams’ knee injury. On SportsCenter, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN highlighted the Broncos as a noteworthy team to monitor in the hunt for a free-agent running back.

Kareem Hunt: End of career or logical landing spot?
Amidst speculation of Kareem Hunt’s career decline, the Broncos emerge as a sensible destination. This is because Lou Ayeni, the Broncos’ new running backs coach, has a connection to Hunt from their time at Toledo, where Ayeni recruited and coached him in 2013.

A greater responsibility might be sought by Kareem Hunt, who is presently an unrestricted free agent at the age of 27. However, Fowler mentioned that a return to the Cleveland Browns is still a possibility for Hunt. Following his stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, he joined the Browns for the past four seasons.

However, also consider what would happen if Wilson performs well and continues to play at a high level in the coming years. With believes that the Broncos made a good decision by acquiring Sean Payton, a highly regarded coach and that Payton’s offensive strategies could help Wilson thrive.
Payton has a track record of creating successful scoring offenses, and although he mostly worked with Drew Brees in the past, Wilson is seen as a more talented quarterback. The Broncos prioritize a robust running game to create chances for Wilson’s passing brilliance.
If Wilson performs well and the team succeeds, age may not be a reason for the Broncos to replace him.
