The Super Bowl XLVI loss is a heartbreaking moment for every Tom Brady and Patriots fanatic. But the blazing moment came after the game when Gisele Bündchen made an explicit comment to an uproarious Giants fanbase. The game’s most critical play was the Wes Welker drop that set up the Giants’ game-winning drive. But after the comment controversy arose, WR Welker made a definite reaction to it.

The fifth episode of Tom Brady’s documentary series ‘Man in the Arena’ focused on the Patriots’ undefeated season. Welker’s historic drop and Bundchen’s headline-grabbing post-game response were also in the segment. It includes interviews with many individuals, including Welker, who kept his thoughts.

The Receiver mentioned, “I know where her heart is, and I know who she is, so I almost agreed with her at the time. I was more mad at myself. It’s just funny that you get remembered by the one (play). It’s just something that I’ve got to move on from.”

Brady got a wide-open Wes Welker around the 22-yard line on a second-and-11 from New York’s 45-yard line with 4:06 remaining. But Welker, who was as sure-handed as they come for most of his Patriots career, could not maintain possession.

The NFL GOAT’s Super Bowl record fell to 3-2 when Eli Manning and the New York Giants completed a game-winning touchdown drive. That game remains one of the biggest upsets in league history.

Tom Brady left praise for Wes Welker’s contributions

Despite all the drama, Tom Brady and Wes Welker remain best pals. The QB holds the former WR in high regard and sees him as a partner in crime. He also has a lot of respect for his old colleague. Welker is the play caller’s first choice in his starting rotation among all the colleagues within his 22-year tenure.

As per a transcription by the Boston Herald, Brady said none could articulate what it meant to be a phenomenal player or to do the right thing like Welker. He had an incredible career for the Pats, but they did not win any Super Bowls during that period. But that does not diminish his illustrious career or contributions.

Brady also said, “If I’m starting a team to go to battle with, Wes Welker is in that starting lineup.” There remains no ill will among both the athletes who revolutionized the Patriots. Unfortunately, Welker called it off without a Super Bowl ring, which would linger like a void for many.
