Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is one of the best QBs in the business. With an almost two-decade-long career and multiple records, he is the core of the Packers team. Rodgers is known for having superior standards on the pitch and fans have famously known him for not preferring to work with rookie WRs.

The 2022 season is going to be a crucial one for Aaron because he would have to throw the ball to a set of inexperienced rookie WRs and some veterans who have been bench warmers for a while now. However, it seems like a few rookies have the potential to be exceptional WRs by the end of the season.

Who are the WR rookies that Aaron Rodgers will throw to?
With the Packers’ offense losing some incredible talent out wide, there is growing apprehension in the Packers community that this upcoming season, Aaron Rodgers will have to throw his highly accurate passes to some of the rookie WRs in the squad. However, according to Maurice Drew Jones, two rookie WRs in the Packers lineup stand out as potential superstars for the future.

He specifically singled out Christian Watson as the one with the highest chance of filling in Davante Adams’ shoes. Adams left the team earlier this year to join the Las Vegas Raiders. Watson stands at 6’5″ and weighs 208 lbs. His sheer physicality would make him difficult to defend against. He said, “I believe Watson will emerge as Aaron Rodgers’ go-to target. The Packers traded up to select him 34th overall, and he’s the highest-drafted wideout by the Packers since Rodgers became the starting QB in 2008.”

The other rookie, Jones singled out, was Romeo Doubs, who was drafted in the 4th round. The 6’2″, 204lbs WR has had positive reviews since he arrived at the club. According to Doubs, “He has strong hands and can take the top off the defense. I wouldn’t be surprised if the fourth-rounder ends up as the team’s WR2 at some point during the season.”

Who have the Packers lost before the new season?
The Packers’ offense had some significant losses in terms of personnel before the 2022 season. It lost some of its top athletes, including Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Chiefs). Davante, in fact, was one of the most effective WRs on the team. He had more receptions and receiving yards than all the other Packers WRs combined.

The Packers seem to be going through a major transition now, with a new group of WRs coming up. Despite Aaron Rodgers’ reservations about rookies, if trained well enough, these players could become the cornerstone of the Packers’ offense for years.
