The Dallas Cowboys were playing amazingly in the 2022-2023 season. Fans could see that the team was passionate and deserved to play in the Super Bowl LVII game. However, the dream could not come true as America’s team fell against the San Francisco 49ers in the play divisional round. Fans were not satisfied, as they thought that their favorite QB, Dak Prescott, and the team would definitely win the Lombardi Trophy.
When the Jerry Jones-owned team signed the 29-year-old to a four-year, $160 million contract extension, everyone hoped he would lead the team to their first Super Bowl since 1995. However, the team had been healing itself from that kind of disappointment. This encouraged fans to criticize the 2-time Pro Bowler for continued playoff losses. So, what should Jerry Jones do now?

Dak Prescott signed a very strong contract two years ago. Because he was tagged twice, he virtually can’t get tagged again, which means the #Cowboys might be forced back to the negotiating table as early as this offseason.
And the QB market is 🚀🚀…
— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) February 27, 2023
In order to discuss this impending situation, Ari Meirov of The33rdTeam talked about what the negotiation can be like. He also believed that Dak has serious “leverage” when the time to get back at the team arrives. Meirov also says that since the Cowboys put the franchise tag on Dak twice before, putting a tag on him for the third time is unlikely. After the upcoming season, the next season can bring problems for the Dallas Cowboys. That is because they will have to decide if they want to extend him and give him more money or trade him.
