This was especially profound when the Jets uploaded an Instagram clip of Rodgers’s swirling pass that left the fans swooning.

The Jets have been conducting their preseason training through OTA like every franchise in the NFL. The OTA schedule is set to end in the coming days for all franchises as they look to build up for the minicamp. But the Jets have decided to approach it differently. With the OTA concluding tomorrow by the 9th of June for the Jets, they are handling the minicamp in a unique fashion.

Aaron Rodgers Jets stand out with their training approach

The Jets canceled the mandatory minicamp that was scheduled for the 13th to 15th of June. Robert Saleh announced the cancellation at the press conference yesterday. This comes after the OTA that took place between 5th and 6th June.

In a Twitter post, uploaded by Jets Videos, Robert Saleh shares his thoughts in relation to the canceled minicamp. Saleh says, “With the Hall of Fame Game, we’re reporting a week earlier than everybody else.” Saleh mentions the Hall of Fame game against the Browns as one of the reasons for the cancellation.

He also adds that the guys have done a tremendous job in the OTA building up to the minicamp. Robert Saleh adds, “Guys need to get away. They’ve put in a really good offseason.” He mentions that the team needs the break, “You need a week off and you gotta rev back up to get ready for the season.”

New stars joining the Jets alongside a new OC

The break and the disruption from the minicamp could attract a negative outlook. The team needs time to gel and adapt to each other with time on the pitch. The Jets have seen many new stars join the team, with Aaron Rodgers being the most recognizable name among them. Nathaniel Hackett is the new Offensive Coordinator for the Jets and will lead the preparation of the offense.

Other stars joining the Jets, in Tim Boyle as QB, Billy Turner as Offensive Tackle, and Allen Lazard as Wide Receiver. The break acts as a double-edged sword; it allows the new stars to rest up before the preseason. This puts more pressure on the team to perform with less time to adapt to the new teammates.

This approach to cancel the mandatory minicamp is a well-thought-out decision.
