Amid Retirement Rumors, Frustrated Tom Brady Warns Bucs Teammates as Playoff Preps Back in Focus After Falcons Shocker

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers had a season of ups and downs- mainly downs. While the veteran QB is no newcomer to adversity, the team’s inconsistency this season has not been the easiest to navigate. After the Bucs’ defeat against the Falcons, Brady had some strong words for the team.
After spending 23 years in the league and amassing 7 Super Bowl titles, the QB finds himself heading into the playoffs with a losing record for the first time in his career. As accomplished as TB12 is, there’s no doubt the QB is disappointed. Having to sit out the game to avoid injury perhaps, it couldn’t have been easy to watch his team get trumped by a divisional rival. The QB’s warning will be a warning knell to his squad as they enter the postseason with a dismal record.

In the post-game press conference, Brady reiterated that while it was tough to lose, the team will have to put their best foot forward. He said, “I think, you know, every week’s going to be a new week for us and it’s always tough to lose but we got to put everything we can into this week so this is uh everyone works hard to get to this point and now there’s [sic] no more second chances.” For one thing, Brady is right in the matter of the Bucs having no more chances.

Until now, a poorly performing division ensured that the Bucs slipped into the top spot and the playoffs. The team has had its fair share of close games. But now, mediocre performances aren’t going to cut it. The Bucs will have to face the hard truth and come to a grounding realization. Despite being larger than life, they cannot solely rely on Brady’s ability to whip up a win in desperate times.

Brady will find the journey ahead an uphill climb
The Buccaneers’ slump from champions to barely making the playoffs is rather shocking. After an entire season of unpredictability and inconsistency, the time to clean up their act is here. The playoffs will not be a breeze. Despite clinching their division, their 8-9 record says a lot about the team’s performance this season.
But, Tampa Bay cannot let its previous grievances hinder them from taking a step in the right direction. There’s no doubt that Brady and the Bucs want nothing more than to be crowned champions once again, but how far will they go to accomplish that goal? The odds are stacked against the Bucs. But Brady has been in worse situations. One thing is for certain- TB12 and his squad cannot squander any opportunity if they hope to stick around during the postseason.
