Are Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and several others at risk?
According to CBS Sports, research teams at Boston University discovered CTE in 345 of the 376 former NFL players evaluated as of now. Based on the school’s CTE center, the 91.7% incidence rate of CTE in ex-NFL players stands in stark contrast with the “extremely low population rate” of chronic traumatic brain injury in the general population.

The outcome of taking vicious hits during the game often leads to life-altering diseases. Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion scare this season served as a wake-up call about the dangers of head trauma, which can lead to CTE. Several athletes’ lives drastically changed after they dealt with it.
A current example would be Antonio Brown. The vicious helmet hit from Vontaze Burfict allegedly shook everything. AB was in denial about having CTE. However, he recently spoke up in an Instagram live session, claiming that James Harrison was the reason for his having the disease. As shocking as it may sound, it led to a rabid situation.

The NFL Fans spoke up after the reports went public. Some of them looked concerned, while others had contrasting opinions. One user claimed that it could be misleading.
This can be misleading because we don’t know what position of players they studied.

This user acknowledged the risk the athletes take.
Many risk their lives for a more important cause but when broken down many of them are fighting to support their families first and foremost. Not too dissimilar to what NFL players do. They know the risk.

This user said it was a concerning, but biased situation.
Concerning but also clearly bias selection. I doubt these were rand samplings of NFL players. It was likely players who showed sign of it in life and their families wanting to confirm.

Moreover, this user said the game would not last forever.

A user blasted the NFL for caring about money over athletes.
The nfl doesn’t care about player health, they care about money. If players have to get concussions to play football so they make money. That’s what’s going to happen because player injuries aren’t going to stop the fans from watching.
