The Denver Broncos’ season was a series of unfortunate and humiliating events. The bar was set high in the preseason, and if one is being honest, the hype surrounding the big moves that were made ensured that the fall from grace was more tragic. The Broncos’ management may have envisioned a squad that would be their ticket to the playoffs. Russell Wilson and his contract that made eyes widen around the league was the Broncos’ supposed weapon against divisional rival Patrick Mahomes.

But Wilson hasn’t shown an inkling of anything above mediocrity on the field. Given Hackett’s success with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, the Broncos’ vision during the preseason presented the NFL world with a picture-perfect strategy that could potentially bring back the Franchise’s glory days. But the hype was short-lived. Denver is now the laughingstock of the league while their QB is a fan-favorite punching bag. At a humiliating 4-11, it’s pretty evident that Nathaniel Hackett and the Broncos are not a suitable pair. But what do fans thinks of the move?

Nathaniel Hackett’s exit is a move that was going to happen sooner rather than later. The decision to fire the now-former head coach does not just stem from the lack of results on the field. The Broncos squad has been spiraling out of control from the very start. Rumors of division in the locker room, sideline squabbles, and altercations with opponents paint a very unfortunate picture. Questions about Hackett’s decision-making seem to arise during every game.

But the 14-51 loss to the LA Rams seems to have been the last straw. The Broncos Nation are a passionate bunch who expect a higher standard from their once-illustrious team. Denver will have to make decisions with regard to their franchise’s future before it’s too late. As the regular season comes to an end, the team will have to reevaluate where they stand. That begins by restoring fractured elements and laying the foundation for a better season next year.
