Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are going through a rough season. Their playoff possibilities are almost gone after their last loss to the Tennessee Titans. However, Rodgers and Co. have some reinforcements for the rest of the season that could possibly drive a comeback for Wisconsin.

Even with Aaron Rodgers, The Green Bay Packers are a run offense team this season with the lack of a dependable wide receiver. And the Packers re-signed running back Patrick Taylor on Wednesday after waiving him off of the active roster. Green Bay wants to activate the running backs before they travel to Philly to face the Eagles on Sunday.

Aaron Rodgers and Co. have lost six out of their last seven games and have been held to under 20 points in three of their last four regular-season matchups. This scarcity of offensive firepower can be attributed primarily to WR Davante Adams’s departure to the Las Vegas Raiders.

On top of that, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers face the 8-2 Philadelphia Eagles with a defense that ranks 2nd in the league this season. The Eagles’ defense ranks 7th in the league in points allowed with 18.3 PPG and leads in turnover this season with 20 TOs.

Can Aaron Rodgers make do with the running back adjustments?

Aaron Rodgers is the reigning back-to-back MVP of the league. However, this season has not been a highlight for him. Individually, he does have over 2500 passing yards with 19 touchdowns. But, A-Rod was intercepted 7 times during that period. However, irrespective of the team’s loss, Rodgers is still maintaining a 93.2 passer rating.

The lack is in the receiving department. Young Romeo Doubs was the supposed solution to A-Rod’s problems. However, he is on the injury reserve. Rodgers has to work with veteran Allen Lazard and rookie Christian Watson. Watson has been a pleasant surprise and recorded 155 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns in his last 2 games.

This brings in the running backs. Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, and Kylin Hill have been instrumental in winning games this season. Out of their 4 wins this season, the run offense has recorded 199+ rush yards in 3 of those games. Whenever the running backs failed, the Packers lost. And with Kylin Hill out of the active roster, the Packers have called in the services of Patrick Taylor. Taylor has been in 8 games this season for the special teams.

Green Bay released TE Josh Babicz after signing him in Week 8. And this creates space on the practice squad for Patrick Taylor, who can play three games without being on the active roster. Will Matt LaFleur use Patrick Taylor to aid A-Rod’s broken thumb and his running backs against Philly on Sunday?
