A new season means facing fresh changes for teams in the NFL. And the Las Vegas Raiders are going through massive transitions both in their roster and their franchise altogether. NFL GOAT Tom Brady is going to join the team as a minority stakeholder alongside owner Mark Davis. They released QB Derek Carr to join the New Orleans Saints. And even Jarrett Stidham, who played the last two games in 2022 in place of Carr, is now with the Denver Broncos. The team went on to sign Jimmy Garoppolo as their QB on a three-year $72.75 million contract this March, despite him undergoing surgery for his injuries last season.

And for their WR Davante Adams, he gets to take on teams in the league with a new roster around him and a QB in the form of Garoppolo. Adams joined the Raiders last year after playing with Aaron Rodgers for eight seasons at the Green Bay Packers. With Rodgers now in New York Jets and Adams proving himself with the Raiders, the WR came forward to clarify the recent comments he made about being an elite WR and his relations with the Raiders front office.

Earlier, Davante Adams had a different opinion than the narrative that it is because of Aaron Rodgers that he was able to solidify himself as one of the greatest receivers in the league. In his first season without Rodgers, Adams caught 100 passes for 1,516 yards and a league-high 14 touchdowns with the Raiders, despite his good friend and QB1 Carr on the bench. In an interview with the Ringer, talking about HC Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler, he said that they don’t necessarily agree on what they “think is best for us right now.” And with his QB friend Carr’s departure to the Saints, it stated that Adams was feeling uncertain about his future. After these comments, the WR recently came forward to clear the air around any doubts that may be forming in the mind of his fans.

Talking about his previous comments, Adams told reporters on Thursday that he is “ecstatic to get to work with the new guys.” He went on to state that he has good relations with the Raiders front office, and also implies that things he says often get “taken out of context.” Adams said that people do anything just to get “clicks”, but at the end of the day, he’s locked in to play for the Raiders and the newly assembled roster.

But, after his old friend Aaron Rodgers made his way to New York, there were rumors of Adams joining him at the Jets too, as he was a part of Rodgers’ wish list in New York.

There could have been a possible reunion in New York

Davante Adams is undoubtedly one of the best receivers in the game at the moment. Throughout his career, the 30-year-old has caught 769 passes for 9,637 yards and 87 touchdowns. And rumor mill churned about Adams joining Rodgers once again in New York this offseason, despite signing a five-year $140 million contract with the Raiders last year. He would have joined the likes of Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard, who also made their departure from the Packers behind Rodgers to New York. And with Adams on the roster, the 4X MVP QB would have had a familiar roster to play with for his debut season with the Jets.

But with the way things are progressing, these rumors do not look like anything conclusive in the end. While Rodgers prepares for his debut season with the Jets, Davante Adams will be looking to build chemistry with new QB Garoppolo at the Raiders, in hopes of a contention-worthy season in 2023.
