The future looked bleak when Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending double compound fracture against the New York Giants in Week 5. However, fast-forward to Week 17 and the Cowboys remain in the hunt for the NFC East crown.
Once again, they will go up against the same opponents this weekend as they aim to complete the double over the giants. But this time it will be veteran NFL QB Andy Dalton on the field instead of beloved Dak Prescott. While many questioned his credentials, Dalton has proven himself more than worthy of playing in the NFL since joining in the summer.
But can the 33-year old lead ‘America’s Team’ to the playoffs in 2021?

On the latest segment of Speak For Yourself, former NFL player Emmanuel Acho was joined by co-host Marcellus Wiley. The duo were discussing the resurgence of Mike McCarthy’s Dallas Cowboys. However, Acho had some words addressed towards Cowboys backup Andy Dalton.
“Mike McCarthy deserves some credit, but let me tell you who deserves more…we have to give credit where credit is due and that is to Andy Dalton. Can we talk about the fact that Andy Dalton since week 11 if I’m not mistaken, 13 touchdowns, four interceptions…that’s fewer interceptions than Mahomes.”

“I mean more touchdown passes and a lot of dudes who we proclaim as some of the most prolific pastors in the game of football, the first person that deserves the most credit Andy Dalton,” Acho said on the show.
We 100% agree with Acho’s analysis. Were it not for the persistent displays from Dalton, the Cowboys would not be in the mix for the playoffs as we approach Week 17. The former Cincinnati Bengals starter will once again be in the limelight on Sunday.
