Analyst Tips THIS Wide Receiver as the ‘Wild Card’ in the 2021 NFL Draft

The 2021 NFL Draft is scheduled to begin on April 29th, 2020, in Cleveland, Ohio. But the location could differ based on the league’s stance on COVID-19.

Just like 2020, this year’s draft could also be a virtual event. The 2021 NFL Draft is set to be a 3-day affair ending on May 1st, 2021.

A number of interesting prospects are up for grabs including the likes of Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, Kyle Trask, and Trey Lance.

Reigning Heisman Trophy winner and record-setting wideout De’Vonta Smith is also expected to be a Top-10 pick when the draft kicks off next month.

But NFL Network correspondent Peter Schrager has another ‘wild card’ wide receiver tipped to make a big impact in the NFL this year.

Jaelon Darden could emerge as the surprise package at the 2021 NFL Draft

On the latest segment of the Good Morning Football Show, co-host Peter Schrager offered his 2 cents on North Texas prospect Jaelon Darden ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.

He said, “I’m gonna give you a wild card entry. Someone that I’m gonna present to you that you haven’t heard of before that is going to be drafted and we’ll make a play at some point next season.

“We’re gonna start off on Monday with North Texas wide receiver, Jaelon Darden… Let me tell you something about Jaelon Darden, 5’8” 174 pounds and he is as shifty as they come.

“The numbers are insane from what Jalen Darden did. North Texas’ all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards receiving touchdowns in all four seasons.

“Last year for North Texas, the guy had 19 touchdowns in one season… The stuff that you see on film from him, he is so shifty. He is so fast, he is so quick with his feet.

“There are highlight tapes online where players are literally falling down on skates because Darden is so quick in the slot… Not a huge body, but he is as shifty as they come and I could see him making a huge difference at the NFL next season,” Schrager said on the show.

After 4 years in Texas, Darden finished with 2,782 receiving yards and 38 receiving touchdowns. He is reportedly on the list of the New England Patriots, Houston Texans, and even the Cleveland Browns.
