Antonio Brown has always been a maverick WR on the field for the better part of the 2010s. He was one of the best in his position in the NFL since the Steelers drafted him and has had multiple receiving records to his name. However, his talents didn’t end on the field. The former Bucs WR also established himself as a successful musician and has released multiple tracks.
Reporters have always known Brown’s unique way of dealing with the media. However, in a 2016 interview, even the media was left feeling awkward when Brown had a strange request of them, during a routine interview session.

Brown’s strange request to reporters
During the interview session while at the Steelers, Brown spoke about multiple things, including his friendship with Odell Beckham Jr. He said he and OBJ were both friends and rivals. Both competed to be the best WR in the NFL. Both athletes also drove the other to work harder and become better.
However, it was what happened next that left reporters feeling awkward. Brown apparently switched to an alter ego towards the end of the interview and called himself Ronald. He even requested all media members present to address him as such. He even answered questions as Ronald, bringing the character up in all his replies.

Brown’s replies and the sudden change left reporters surprised and with no explanation. It was difficult to say if it was Brown’s unique way of taking on an interview or if it was some locker room inside joke. What is Antonio Brown doing now, and what are his plans?
Brown last played for the Bucs during the 2021 season and is currently a free agent. With no franchises having signed him so far, it seems likely that Brown would not play the 2022 season. This became apparent from Brown’s words as well. He said, “Obviously, we live the game, but you can’t play forever”. He also released an album recently and said that business was booming for him.
But Brown’s greatest wish currently seems to be to retire as part of the Steelers. He had joined the Pittsburgh Steelers as a rookie more than a decade back. If the Steelers have him back, Brown is sure to provide the locker room with a lot of memories, similar to the Ronald incident, before retiring.
