In 2012, Brown took to Twitter to discuss the then-heated debate while stating in a brief caption, “Kobe surpass Jordan.” Despite the theory having its flaws, some NBA fans believe that statistically, Bryant was much closer to Jordan.

In the early years of his career, Bryant didn’t see much action in his first few seasons when he did not play much as a high-school prospect.

The numbers suggest that both players would have been much closer if Bryant’s first 3 seasons are taken out of the equation. Bryant and Jordan have always appeared to share a mentor and mentee relationship with each other. Some NBA fans believe the ‘Black Mamba‘ initially mapped his game after seeing the ‘Black Jesus‘ in action. While AB seems to have chosen his NBA GOAT, the claims remain a reach with some degree of validity.
