Jerry Jones is like the messiah for the Dallas Cowboys. When he brought the ‘America’s team’ in 1989 for $140 million, no other team in the NFL back then sold for a whopping nine-figure deal. And ever since, Jones has gone on to create a fortune for the Cowboy. Today the Dallas Cowboys stand at the top of the pinnacle as the world’s richest sporting franchise with a net worth of around $7 billion. From moving away from the revenue-sharing agreement of the league to striking his own lucrative sponsorships, Jones left no stone unturned in order to branch out the team’s revenue-generating opportunities. He even figured out a way to establish revenue streams for the team as a brand as well through merchandising.

And even today, Jerry Jones continues to build on the fortunes of the Cowboys as a team in the NFL. But despite the financial success, the Cowboys were recently struck with a crisis. A crisis that includes the involvement of one player from their roster.

According to reports, 26-year-old WR Antonio Callaway was arrested in Miami on Saturday. Callaway signed with the Dallas Cowboys back in November and joined the team’s practice squad.

The reason Antonio Callaway was arrested is that he had a warrant against his name for allegedly driving with a suspended license and failing to make the payments needed for the same. And now, the WR is going to stack up a $250 fine for the misdemeanor. This is not the first time Callaway has had troubles with law enforcement. Back in Ohio in 2018, he was issued a citation for possessing marijuana and also driving with a suspended license. He hasn’t played a regular season game in the NFL since his brief five-game stint with the Miami Dolphins in 2020 after a long suspension.

Still at the top of the profitability mountain

The Dallas Cowboys last won their Super Bowl in the Super Bowl XXX in 1996. And ever since, they have been having a dry spell to bring in more trophies for their cabinet. But despite their dry spell, they are at the top in terms of being the most valuable franchise in the world. Jones puts a lot of work and effort into the Cowboys’ media and marketing. And with the addition of a help of a strong fanbase, their profitability grows with each passing year.
