Last year, Pittsburgh Steelers lost their QB Dwayne Haskins to a tragic incident. The QB lost his life after being hit by a truck last year. As many questions about his death remained unanswered, family and friends have been grieving over his death for more than a year now. However, the attorney suggested some insightful facts regarding the case giving it a new turn.

Now, a year after his death, his attorney filed a lawsuit claiming that the QB was “targeted and drugged” as a part of an alleged “blackmail and robbery” conspiracy against him.

Attorney of Dwayne Haskins files a lawsuit based on previously unseen evidence

Recently, an attorney representing Haskins’s family released a statement mentioning the alleged conspiracy against the Steelers QB before his death. According to the statement, the driver who hit Dwayne resulting in his death has not provided an alcohol test result and blood samples to the police.

As per Ian Rapoport on Twitter, the statement read, “As to what occurred in the hours before Dwayne was killed, many questions remain unanswered. It is believed that Dwayne was targeted and drugged as a part of a blackmail and robbery conspiracy. In fact, his highly expensive watch was stolen from him shortly before his death.”

With the filing of this lawsuit, the attorney believes, “it is an important step in the process of uncovering the complete truth about this tragedy.” The statement further states,  “On behalf of Dwayne’s wife, his family, and his memory, and on behalf of  the truth, we respectfully request the public’s patience and its withholding of judgment while the legal process continues.”

The tragic death of Haskins last year

Last year, the Steelers QB lost his life tragically on April 9, 2022, when a dump truck hit him while getting across Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was 24 at the time. After being hit, they pronounced him dead at the scene. He was reportedly trying to cross the Interstate on foot. Just a month before his death, he had re-signed with the Steelers, with aspirations of becoming the starting QB.
