The thing that makes sports beautiful is when the players go out of their way to give back to the community. Recently, golf superstar Brooks Koepka wanted to make a young fan’s day very special. And to do that, the golfer invited his favorite football player Baker Mayfield to join in. 

Ethan Evans is the name of the special fan. The 11-year-old boy from Oklahoma suffers from a very rare form of cancer. Evans grew up idolizing Koepka. The brave young boy is also a big fan of the Browns quarterback. So Koepka got Mayfield involved for Evans.

The 11-year-old Ethan Evans suffers from Rhabdomyosarcoma. It’s a type of soft tissue tumor that can appear in the neck, head, arms, or legs. The system of this cancer also includes the bladder and prostate. The boy at such a young age faces 66 rounds of chemotherapy. He has just started treatment.

Learning about the young fan, the American golfer Brooks Koepka invited Ethan and his family to join him for practice. The golfer was preparing for The Players Championship on Wednesday, and he had some extra support. 

Koepka wanted to introduce Ethan to Baker Mayfield after discovering that he was his favorite football player. The golfing star texted Mayfield, and he was expecting to hear from him. The Browns quarterback responded with a FaceTime call for the young fan. “Ethan, I’ve got somebody on the phone for you,” said Koepka to Evans, “Ethan, what’s up, buddy?” The Browns star exclaimed in excitement. The golfer asked the boy if he knew who it was? Evans responded, “Baker Mayfield?” This little gesture made the young kid’s day a little more special than before. 

Koepka gave Evans some special goodies after practice

The young fan was on top of the moon. Not only did he get to join his idol for practice, but he also got to talk to his favorite football player. After the FaceTime call with Baker Mayfield and practice ended, Koepka presented Ethan with a Nike goodie bag. The bag had some Nike gear and a pair of Brooks Koepka’s just-released shoes. The golfer said that he will be wearing these shoes this weekend. Koepka also said he will think of the young fan when he plays with the shoes.
