Despite having the likes of Brock Purdy and Trey Lance, they may sign a QB due to injury problems. At one time, many reports even linked the likes of Tom Brady with the Niners. Fans want the franchise to sign four QBs as GM John Lynch revealed that he texted a former teammate.

According to recent reports, the franchise is looking at some veteran signal callers to bring them to San Francisco amid the Purdy and Lance uncertainty. They surely don’t want to go through that pain again.

Amid all the uncertainty in the Niners QB room, GM John Lynch revealed he texted Tom Brady after his retirement. According to Dov Kleiman, it was a congratulatory tweet for the wonderful career of the seven-time Super Bowl champion, who is also Lynch’s former teammate.

Lynch and Brady were teammates for a very brief period in 2008 at the New England Patriots. That lasted just a few weeks before the Patriots decided to cut Lynch who played as a safety.

The Niners are looking at a few veteran QBs to join their ranks as both Brock Purdy and Trey Lance are hit with injury uncertainty. Lance missed the entire 2022 season with a neck injury while Purdy tore his UCL in the NFC championship game. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has already dismissed the idea of keeping Jimmy Garoppolo. But who will join the San Francisco outfit is still not clear.
