New England Patriots departed with one of their all-time legends in the form of Tom Brady earlier this year. The 42-year old quarterback ended his 20-year old association with the Patriots and opted to move to Florida with Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a two-year deal.

Despite being on the wrong side of 40, Brady had a decent 2019 season with the Pats. Brady threw for 4,000+ yards for the third consecutive season last year but had an average pass completion rate of 60.1 with 24 TDs. He recently came in at number six of the NFL Top 100 list. However, former Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns player – Emmanuel Acho – believes that Brady’s ranking is a tad bit high.

Emmanuel Acho unsure if Tom Brady deserves to be sixth in the NFL Top 100 list

On a recent segment of Speak For Yourself with Emmanuel Acho and Marcellus Wiley, the hosts talked about the NFL Top 100 list. Acho, in particular, singled out Brady’s rating as ‘fairly kind’.

“Tom Brady being at six, might even be high. Like the only reason that Tom Brady is getting that much of a benefit of the doubt is because his name is Tom Brady and because we don’t necessarily have recency bias but we have ‘Brady bias’. We’ve seen what Brady has done over the course of time.”

“But Marcus let’s look at the stats, Brady played 17 games last year including playoffs. His completion percentage is worse than that of Andy Dalton, Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen. If you’re really looking at Brady, putting him at six is actually, probably giving him the benefit of the doubt. Because I would still like guys like Mahomes, Wentz, Rodgers, Watson, Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson. To put Brady at six is actually, probably, fairly kind,” Acho said on the show.

Only time will tell how Brady’s adventure in Tampa Bay along with Rob Gronkowski will pan out. The six-time Super Bowl winner seems determined to make the most of his last few years in the league. With the likes of Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, OJ Howard at his disposal, can ‘Tampa Brady’ lead the Bucs to the Super Bowl in 2020?
