Tom Brady continues to defy Father Time. Aged 43, the quarterback claimed his seventh Super Bowl title with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season.

Turning 44 last week, Brady now enters the 2021 season aged 44. It’s a miracle how the quarterback still continues to perform at the highest level despite being in his mid-40s.

But there’s a secret to Tom Brady’s success — his TB12 lifestyle. Brady has long been a proponent of eating healthy, working out, and staying hydrated.

His strict fitness regime is something that he has shared with the world through his book, New York Times bestseller, ‘The TB12 Method: How to Achieve a Lifetime of Sustained Peak Performance’.

In the book, Brady talks in detail about his workout plan, diet and everything he does to stay in peak physical condition. While most of Brady’s suggestions seem to be sound advice, there’s one aspect that catches certain eyeballs.

Tom Brady keeps away from desserts and other such sugary treats, but there is one item that Brady swears by. His infamous avocado ice cream.

While many have adopted certain aspects of Brady’s lifestyle choices, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger doesn’t seem to keen on adding avocado ice cream to his diet anytime soon.

Tom Brady can keep his avocado ice cream to himself

Talking to the Washington Post, Roethlisberger who himself is nearing his 40s was asked about his fitness journey over the offseason. The Steelers QB made headlines when he turned up to training camp looking to have lost a few pounds off his weight.

“I’ve really focused on having a trainer, my body… Part of it’s football. But part of it’s life. I’m not getting any younger. I’m almost 40 years old. So you’ve got to take care of yourself,” said the QB.

“Nothing against Tom Brady, but I’m not eating avocado ice cream,” he said. “Yeah, you have a chef and you try and eat healthy. But you’re eating healthy because you want to be and feel good,” he added.

In his book, Brady shared the recipe for his favorite dessert. Consisting of avocado, coconut, dates, cashews, cacao powder and water, Brady’s avocado might not be for everyone.
