Bill Belichick, the mastermind behind the New England Patriots’ dynasty, has faced challenges in replicating the team’s past dominance following the departure of Tom Brady. Ever since the NFL G.O.A.T’s departure, the team has not been the same, leaving fans wondering if Belichick’s magic has fizzled out. Belichick and Brady’s partnership created a legacy at Foxborough that will be remembered for years to come.

While that legacy may be a thing of the past, Belichick is far from giving up on the dream of reclaiming the throne. Despite the decline in the team’s stats since Brady’s exit, Belichick remains unworried and has a four-word message for those who are concerned.

The post-Tom Brady struggles

Tom Brady came into the team as a late pick in the 2000 NFL draft. Ever since then, the Patriots became the team that everyone feared. The Brady-Belichick era resulted in six Super Bowl titles in nine appearances in the big game. After 20 years of dominance, the QB left the team to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. And the Patriots haven’t been the same since.

In two of the four years since Brady’s departure, the Patriots failed to even reach the playoffs. They lost the wildcard round the two times they did make it to the postseason. So they haven’t won a single playoff game since they lost their longtime QB. And to rub more salt in the wounds, Brady won the Vince Lombardi with the Buccaneers too.
