Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones sidestepped a question on signing WR Antonio Brown once. In 2019, the billionaire indirectly said that he was not open to signing Brown to his franchise.
Jones told the hosts of the radio show 105.3 The Fan that he was happy with the depth of the Cowboys’ offense. He had mentioned that there was no need for the team to take on former Patriots WR when they had talented players on their roster.

Do the Cowboys really need Antonio Brown?
As per Jones’s word, the franchise did not need to take on Brown for the foreseeable future. The 79-year-old said he closely monitored the Cowboys’ operations and knew of “areas where we could be better off.” He said that even in 2018, he had changed players and coaching staff after the defeat to the Washington Commanders. He knew where his team needed to improve.
Jones added he spent a significant amount of time at the Cowboys HQ and that he was “continually looking for things you can change and improve, whether it be personnel or whether it be what we’re doing with the personnel.”

The Cowboys’ owner also mentioned, “Again, I don’t want to be talking about any player. I like our depth. We’ve got some players out there that I think give us as good a depth at receiver that we have on the squad. So, I’m not speaking to Antonio… I believe we would go with the depth we have”.

What do others have to say?
Hall of Famer inductee Michael Irvin pitched in, asking Jones to sign Brown “for a week or two” to make up for their injury crisis. “Where we find help, I don’t care,” he said.
Brown has always been a talented WR. In the Raiders, he was the highest-paid WR in the sport. Jerry Jones’ reception of the WR does not reflect anything about Brown’s talent as a player.
