The star linebacker claimed that he was never informed about his release, which was indeed an unexpected move by the club. Wagner was about to make $16.6 million this year and a $20.3 million salary cap hit next season, according to his three-year contract of $54 million. During his decade with the franchise, Wagner has made around 1381 tackles, which is a record of all time for the Seahawks.
